Alison Doody

Alison Doody is an Irish actor and model. She was born on November 11, 1966. Her feature film debut was a small part on the Bond film A View to a Kill. (1985). Later, she portrayed Nazi-sympathising Archaeologist Elsa Schneider (Indiana Jones and in the Last Crusade 1989). There were also roles for Siobhan Dovan as Charlotte in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody was approached by a photographer and began to take on the role of model. She then developed her career as a commercial model. Doody tried to stay clear of glamour and nude roles, that was a rule she incorporated into her acting. When she came to the director's attention for an upcoming James Bond film, Doody accepted a minor role on the film A View to a Kill (1985). Doody was selected as one of the twelve most promising young actors in the year 1986 by John Willis Screen World. 38. Doody was just turning 18 when she took on the role as a Bond girl. She remains the youngest Bond girl. Another film from her early days was a small part in the role of IRA member Siobhan Donovan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) in which she was a film starring Mickey Rourke. Doody played an unseen role as Archibald Craven's spouse Lilias during his dream, 1987's adaptation from The Secret Garden. Doody played Sapsorrow in the Jim Henson's fantasy show The Storyteller, opposite John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She also starred as Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. The most memorable role to date was as Austrian Nazi sympathizer and archaeologist Doctor Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody was in the film with Sean Connery in the film in the role of Indy's father. In the year 1991, Doody co-starred opposite Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the publication fraud, also known as the Hitler Diaries. Doody then relocated to Hollywood. She went on as Flannery the agent of Charlie Sheen and her girlfriend in Major League II. She was chosen to be the replacement for Cybill Shepherd, who was L'Oreal's first spokeswoman. After nearly a decade from screen Doody was back in the acting world and acted in a tiny role in 2003's British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine as her character in the award ceremony scene. She also appeared in 2004 with Patrick Swayze as a television adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. She also appeared as a character in Benjamin's Struggle, a 2005 booklet on the Holocaust. Doody played a small role in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). She guested in RTE's the medical thriller The Clinic. The project was eventually canceled. Pam Jefferson, the character that she played in the comedy series E4's Beaver Falls during its first season of two seasons. She was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way which was a film from 2014. She was given the Almeria tierra de cinema award on November 21, 2018.
